Dear all,

It is our immense pleasure to share that the 8th Association of Nepali Teraian in America (ANTA) General Convention held on August 30th, 2025, at Brambleton Library, 22850 Brambleton Plaza, Brambleton, VA 20148, Washington DC Metro Area, in a hybrid format (In-person and virtual) was a grand success. This convention, with a theme of “Preserve Our Culture, Inspire Our Future, and Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of ANTA”, was another milestone on the list of ANTA’s achievements. The convention was attended by approximately 400 participants (In-person and Virtual) that included distinguished guests, ANTA members and their families, and well-wishers. The ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest Former Deputy Prime Minister and the Current Parliament member, Honorable Upendra Yadav, the most respected leader in our community. On behalf of ANTA, we would like to extend our highest appreciation to the respected Honorable Yadav for his kind presence at the convention. We are also thankful to the special guest speakers Hon. Collaborative effort is the key to success for any organizational activity. After the opening session, the ANTA State Session was held. Dr. Rabindra Mandal, ANTA Secretary Presented a proposal of amendment of the ANTA Bylaws based on the ANTA CEC decision and approval from ANTA Trustee Committee following the Bylaws Article IX: General Convention:

a. The Central Executive Committee shall comprise of ten (10) executive Officers. The CEC officers’ position will be for a President, Senior Vice President, two or three (2 or 3) Vice Presidents, a General Secretary, a Joint Secretary, a Treasurer, a Joint Treasurer, a Spokesperson, and a Chief Technology Officer. The Executive Committee shall always have odd number of voting members.

The term of Executive Committee members shall serve for two years term. The term will start right after the solemnization of the new CEC body through the convention and the term will be valid for the next two years.

Discussion was held on Dr. Mandal’s proposal of ANTA Bylaws Amendment. Members present in the general body meeting also put their views on the positive and negative aspects of ANTA Bylaws amendment. ANTA 8th General Body unanimously approved the proposal and amended the ANTA Bylaws as follow:

ARTICLE XXII: BOARD OF TRUSTEE

c. The Board of Trustee may conduct ANTA Election upon the request/recommendation of the ANTA Central Executive Committee.


ANTA Election Declaration session was also conducted. Choosing Executive Committee officers for leading any organization is very important and challenging. The 8th General ANTA convention elected new EC officers for 2025-2027 via more democratic Election process as per ANTA Bylaws. Dr. Ram Babu Yadav-Trustee Board Chair and Election Chairman announced the election results: [President – Mr. Mohan Kumar Yadav, Senior Vice President – Mr. Kusheshwar Mandal, Vice President (National) – Mr. Ashish Jha, Vice President (International) – Mr. Khushnandan Thakur, General Secretary – Dr. Rabindra Mandal, Joint Secretary – Mr. Sudhir Yadav, Treasurer – Mr. Brajesh Kumar Thakur, Joint Treasurer – Mr. Mithilesh Yadav, Spokesperson – Mrs. Kanchan Thakur, Executive Committee Members (5 positions), Mr. Raju Gupta, Mr. Bablu Yadav, Mrs. Laxmi Chaudhary, Mr. Abhinandan Yadav, Mrs. Rabila Sah]. This newly elected team will be effective from January 2026 as per ANTA Bylaws. We would like to thank Dr. Ram Babu Yadav – Election Committee Chair and Trustee Board Chair and his team members: Dr. Ram Krishna Sah, Mr.Vijay Singh and Mr. Sujit Jha for completing the election process very successfully. We would also like to congratulate Mr. Mohan K. Yadav – newly elected ANTA president and his team members and wish them for the success of their tenure.

The convention provided forum for discussion on relevant issues that help in promoting ANTA’s mission in achieving its goals and objectives. In compliance with the theme of the 8th Convention, a session on “ Role ANTA Collaboration in the Prosperity of our community: Mobilization of Youth Resources “ was organized. We would like to thank the moderator of the session Dr. Rambabu Yadav and the panelists: Dr. Rakesh Mandal, Mr. Vijaya Chaudhary, Dr. Rabindra Mandal, Mr. Kusheshwar Mandal, Mr. Vijay Singh, Mr.Dinbandhu Gupata and Dr. Indra D. Sahu for their ideas, views and thoughtful presentations. This session presented several current issues going in our society and how ANTA could collaborate with Nepal Government to uplift the prosperity of or community in Nepal and Abroad.


The convention also presented ANTA’s annual reports. We would like to thank ANTA President Mr. Mohan K. Yadav for chairing the session and presenters: Dr. Rabindra Mandal- ANTA secretarial report, Mr. Mohan Yadav- ANTA Cultural Promotion, Mr. Rajesh Guupta – ANTA DC Chapter report, Mr. Kusheshwar Mandal- Kentucky-Ohio Chapter report, Mr. Mohan Yadav presented the other chapter reports on behalf of Texas Chapter and Kansas Missouri Chapter. Mr. Mohan K. Yadav also presented the financial activity performed by ANTA EC during the term 2023-2025 and presented that ANTA Central EC will not be responsible for any financial activities done by any individual ANTA members (life member or general member) or other individual in the name of ANTA.

One of the goals of the convention was to revisit what we learned in the past and where we would like to go in the future. An open round table session on “Strengthening ANTA” was organized. We would like to thank Dr. Rabindra Mandal for moderating the session and several participating members for providing their feedback for the unity of Madhesi working for Madhesi cause under the umbrella of ANTA and future work required to strengthen ANTA. Discussions were also held on past activities including financial activities and ongoing issues in ANTA. Members present in the general body meeting also put their views on the how to make the ANTA activities transparent and unite whole ANTA community together to serve our community at large. ANTA EC should learn from the past experience and improve the further performance to run the organization smoothly.

ANTA 8th General Body unanimously condemned and rejected the illegal activities by the unauthorized individuals and groups in the name of ANTA. The General body of the convention (the supreme body of ANTA) upheld all the activities of ANTA led by Mr. Mohan Yadav and team. The convention general body also approved the use of the new ANTA website (www.anta-terai.org) instead of the old website (www.terai.org). So www.anta-terai.org has been the official ANTA website and will be used for ANTA activities. Any activities done in the old website by any individual or group are invalid, and also, the future use of the old website will be invalid and illegal. Convention General body decision is final and cannot be challenged in the spirit of ANTA Bylaws.

The convention provides an opportunity to recognize the contributions and achievements of ANTA members and friends of ANTA. The Award Ceremony is one of several jewels that make the convention shining. The convention was also enjoyable because of the cultural program that was full of entertainments including the songs, dances and drama. Several artists showed their talents in the program and presented several Nepal-madhesh related performances. Specifically, we would like to thank Cultural Program Committee (Mrs. Kanchan Thakur, Mr. Mohan Yadav, and Mrs. Saraswati Adhikari, Mrs. Priya Gupta, Mrs. Bandana Deo, Mrs. Sonia Sah, Mrs. Ranju Yadav) for their team for leading the cultural program, and several volunteers for showing their talents and making the convention enjoyable for all participants. We would also like to thank media representatives Enepalese for the live broadcasting of the convention. We would like to thank all the sponsor and donors who supported this convention.

The convention was well represented by the ANTA family members and several distinguished friends of ANTA, and many others. On behalf of 8th ANTA general Convention organizing committee, we express our words of appreciation to them and all the participants for making the convention a grand success.
